Description
The ZA-1038 is a mine detector for metal mines and non-metal mines with metal wires, buried in snow or soil or hidden, made by IEMI in Bucharest [1]. It comprised a search frame, an oscillator unit, a Ni-Cd battery, headphones and a probe; the frame oscillator works at 400–460 Hz [1].
IEMI’s table of special production lists the ZA 1038 together with the DT-3, with 5,264 units made in 1971–1985; section V.3 says IEMI made many types of mine detectors and offered this one for export [2][3].
