Description
The NIM 1141 is a low-noise charge-sensitive preamplifier (type 1141) in the NIM standard, designed by the nuclear electronics team of IFA at Măgurele and made at FAN [1]. Used in energy and time spectrometry with semiconductor detectors, it converts the charge pulses from the detector into voltage pulses; together with the detector it forms the front-end electronics of a spectrometry chain [1]. In the high-resolution gamma spectrometry chain for the Cernavodă nuclear power plant it had a sensitivity of 50–100 mV/MeV, an integral non-linearity below ±0.05% and an equivalent input noise of 1 keV (at 0 pF) plus 25 eV/pF [1]. It fed the NIM 1112 spectroscopy amplifier [1].
