Description
The ADA 02 is an amplifier with an audible alarm for radiotelephones, made by IEMI in Bucharest [1]. IEMI made radiotelephones under a licence bought in 1968 from the Swedish firm SRA (Svenska Radio Aktiebolaget), later modernised by IEMI itself; they were used in industry, on the railways, in rescue services, agriculture, transport, construction, by the police and the fire brigade [1].
IEMI’s production table lists 1,696 made in 1975–1984, plus a lot of 195 in 1983–1984 [2].
Annex III.2.15 describes the ADA 02 and the ADA 03 as alarm units for road vehicles, used with a mobile radiotelephone and fed from the 12 V battery (negative to chassis); they gave siren signals swept manually or automatically, or a two-tone signal, and also worked as amplifiers with a 100 mV input (300–3000 Hz). The ADA 02 gave 25 W into 16 Ω for the alarm signal and drew up to 4.5 A [3].
