Description
The MINER 100 is a radio transceiver for the shafts of non-gassy mines, designed at the ICE research institute in Bucharest [1]. Its prototype was completed in June 1986, ahead of the December date in the plan [1].
Its prospectus describes a single-channel FM transceiver on 100 kHz with a loop antenna, linking the mine galleries with the lift and its operator; with a diagonal antenna instead of the loop it could be used as a portable set in non-gassy mines or other underground work [2]. It had an IP-54 enclosure and a service life of 10 years; a MINER 200 variant had a longer range, and the Minier 502 power converter was made for it [2].
