Description

The HC 33.00 is a series of waxed-paper capacitors for direct current, in a tubular case with axial leads, made to STAS 7669-74 for coupling, decoupling and filter circuits [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists seven package codes, HC 33.01 to HC 33.09, with 0.001–0.47 µF at 400–1000 V [1].

The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It was made by IPRS Băneasa, which also designed the HPA and HSA paper capacitors put into production in 1972 [5].

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
HC construction type (structure, use): oil-impregnated or waxed paper capacitor, for direct current
33 technological family („familia tehnologică”)
01…09 package code („codul capsulei”)

The capacitors are marked in clear with the climatic category and the other characteristics – nominal capacitance, tolerance and rated voltage; the book’s example is an HMC 33 02 marked „0,25 µF ± 20% 150 Vcc” and „10/070/74” [3].

For the HC 33.02 package the 2nd edition prints the second capacitance as „0,0017” µF (and the only one at 1000 V likewise); the 1st edition prints 0.0047 µF, which fits between its neighbours 0.0033 and 0.0068 µF. The page keeps the value of the 2nd edition [1][2]. Both editions give 0.015 µF at 630 V in two packages, HC 33.02 and HC 33.03 [1][2].

Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm: the table gives D, L, the lead diameter d and the lead length l; fig. 20.4 marks D and L as maximum values and l as ± 5 mm [1].
