Description
The HPR 30.56 is a mixed-dielectric capacitor (paper and plastic film) for the protection of silicon power diodes in rectifiers, in a cylindrical can 30 mm in diameter and 56 mm long, with two solder tags and an M8 mounting stud [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) gives two values, 1 µF at 400 V and 0.47 µF at 800 V; the 1st edition (1983) has the same data and the same code [1][2].
The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It was made by IPRS Băneasa, which also designed the HPA and HSA paper capacitors put into production in 1972 [5].
Coded as [3]:
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| HPR | construction type (structure, use): capacitor with mixed dielectric (paper and plastic film), for diode protection in rectifiers |
| 30 | technological family („familia tehnologică”) |
| 56 | package code („codul capsulei”) |
The capacitors are marked in clear with the climatic category and the other characteristics – nominal capacitance, tolerance and rated voltage; the book’s example is an HMC 33 02 marked „0,25 µF ± 20% 150 Vcc” and „10/070/74” [3]. The drawing shows the marking area on the can [1].
The book does not say whether the rated voltages are DC or AC. Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.9): Ø 30 ± 1, height 56; solder tags 10 ± 2 mm high and 10 ± 0.3 mm apart; M8 stud 12 mm long [1].
