Description

The T700N1600 is the head of the series of normal (slow) thyristors of IPRS Băneasa, made for drilling rigs of 10 and 30 tonne-force, DC thyristor locomotives, the excitation of 330 and 660 MW generators, main rolling-mill drives and 5.5 MW cement-mill drives [1]. Its fast counterpart was the T600F1200 [1]. Section 2300 (diodes and thyristors) of IPRS, set up in 1968, started with a SILEC Semiconducteurs licence for four families of silicon rectifier diodes, which brought mesa technology to Romania; in 1981 an AEG licence was bought for medium-power thyristors, for the electronic equipment of the LDE and LE locomotives [1].
