Description

The CENA-2M is the mobile successor of the CENA-1S, whose drum memory was replaced with a static memory; it was designed, like its predecessor, by the team of about 50 computer specialists of the Ministry of National Defence, drawing on the experience of the creators of MECIPT at the Timișoara Polytechnic Institute [1]. The CENA computers were made at Electronica in ten units up to 1966 and equipped the army’s four corps [1]. In 1966 it was used in a military application with Warsaw Pact troops, the Romanian units being the only ones using such technology [1].
