History

IEIA (Întreprinderea de Electronică Industrială și Automatizări, the Industrial Electronics and Automation Enterprise) in Cluj-Napoca produced data-processing equipment, taking over the manufacture of products designed by IPA, the automation design institute in Bucharest [1].

It also made electronic medical equipment and stabilised power supplies for automation equipment designed by ICE and its Cluj-Napoca branch: linear supplies of 30, 60 and 100 W with thyristors, switched-mode inverters (100 W) and converters (5 W), and versions qualified for the nuclear and naval programmes, motorways and radio stations [3]. In 1989 ICE designs accounted for about a quarter of its production capacity [3].

In 1989

In 1989 IEIA belonged to the Industrial Central for Automation Equipment (CIEA) of the Ministry of the Electrotechnical Industry [2].
