Description
The Cora was the first miniature pocket radio, of Romanian design, made by Electronica in Bucharest from 1971 [1]. It receives medium waves only, and used a variable capacitor with solid dielectric made at Electronica; until then only air-dielectric variable capacitors had been used [1]. The Cora 2 has the same circuit and characteristics, with a differently decorated case [1].
The photograph caption in the book calls it the Cora S 711 T, a designation which the annex gives to the Alfa 1 [1].
In the source table, sensitivity is given on medium waves for 50 mW output and a 20 dB signal-to-noise ratio, selectivity for a signal ±9 kHz (AM) or ±300 kHz (FM) away, and output power at no more than 10% distortion [1].
