Major

The Major is an export version of the Perla portable radio, made by Electronica in Bucharest [1]. In 1968 Electronica exported 84,000 radios of the Perla type, in versions named Oscar, Simonetta, Major, Universum, Gold-Star and Overseas; exports rose to 250,000 radios in 1973 and stayed at that level until 1981, and the book notes that Electronica was the only East European exporter of radios to the West [1].
