Description
The Milcov 1 is a simple, fully transistorised table radio of the popular type for export, adapted to tropical climates, made by Electronica in Bucharest [1]. It has a remarkable mechanical construction and a minimum of controls for any kind of use [1]. The Milcov family, with an improved circuit, went into production in 1971; these sets could be fed from the mains or from batteries, and very many versions were exported [1]. A later model was the Milcov 2 S 724.
Tehnoton in Iași also made it in 1974–1979 [2]. It was exported to Peru in 1975; to Sudan in 1976 [2].
In the source table, sensitivity is given on medium waves for 50 mW output and a 20 dB signal-to-noise ratio, selectivity for a signal ±9 kHz (AM) or ±300 kHz (FM) away, and output power at no more than 10% distortion [1].
