Milcov 5

The Milcov 5 is a radio receiver made by Tehnoton in Iași [1]. It was in production in 1977–1978 [1].

Tehnoton was set up in Iași by a decree of 28 July 1972 as Romania’s second electronics company, with its production lines, technology and engineers coming from Electronica in Bucharest [1]. It assembled its first radio in 1974 and made it entirely in Iași a year later [1]. Its radios were exported to Japan (Cosmos, 1976), France (Gloria, from 1977) and the United States (clock radios with LED displays under the Soundesign brand, from 1979); radio-cassette recorders followed in 1981 and music centres in 1985 [1].
