Description
The Romanța S 581 A is a mains-powered tube radio receiver made in Bucharest by Radio Popular, the factory that became Electronica in 1960 [1]. It is one of the first receivers of Romanian design, built partly with imported and partly with locally made components [1].
In 1958 it was one of the four receiver types assembled at the same time at Radio Popular, together with the Opereta, Victoria and Balada [1]. It was also made in a version with a magic-eye tuning indicator, and as the Romanța 59 S 581 A2 [1]. It uses the same Czechoslovak tube types as the Acord S 581 A3 [1].
The audio frequency response comes from the text’s table of the first Romanian-designed receivers; the annex gives no value [1].
In the source table, sensitivity is given for 50 mW output, selectivity at 1 MHz for ±10 kHz detuning, the audio frequency response at −6 dB relative to 400 Hz, and output power at 10% distortion [1].
