Description

The F-3031 is a military telephone multiplex system of the modernised generation, with modular construction, made by Electromagnetica in Bucharest [1]. Its modules followed the mechanical standard introduced by ICSITA and used new processes such as electrostatic painting and anodising [1].

It was the modernised F-3030, with large-scale integrated circuits and extruded aluminium profiles, about twenty years later, and was meant mainly for multiplexing the R-4010 radio relay station [2]. The modernised F-3091 and F-3031 were installed in the F-2990, F-2991 and F-2000 mobile signal centres; their channels had a 300–3400 Hz band, low distortion and high crosstalk attenuation, could carry secondary telegraph multiplexing, data and encrypted traffic, and were light enough for road and armoured vehicles [3].
