Description
The Electronic 1003 H2 is a hybrid 2 television set for export to the CCIR standard, made by Electronica in Bucharest [1]. Its construction is similar to that of the Diana H2, with some differences required by its destination: the selector circuit board and the switching and display unit are of the West German PREH type, and the coils are wound with polyurethane-insulated wire [1].
In 1973 Electronica launched the hybrid 2 (H2) sets, with higher productivity thanks to an improved construction: the new single board solved technological problems that slowed the H1 assembly lines, and the video-sound and sound IF paths were shielded in aluminium boxes extruded under 8 t/cm² from punched pellets [1]. The design was made by Constantin Găzdaru under technical director Octavian Juncu [1]. Among the H2 models launched were the Olimp H2 E 47-745, Diana H2, Opera H2, Saturn H2 E 59-750, Electra H2 E 59-751 and Astronaut H2 E 65-752, and for export, to the CCIR standard, the Diamant 5000 and Electronic 1003 H2 [1]. From 1972 all picture tubes came from the picture-tube factory at Pipera; the silicon transistors from IPRS were of excellent quality, while some Romanian passive components were weak [1]. In 1971–1976 about 2.4 million hybrid H1 and H2 sets were made (up to 500,000–550,000 a year) for the home market and for export [1].
Other models of the same group: Diamant 5000.
In the source table, video sensitivity is given for 6 V rms on the picture-tube cathode, the signal-to-noise ratio on the sound path, and the selectivity values are, in order, the rejection of the own sound carrier and of signals below and above the picture carrier (and, where given, of the IF and the image frequency); the audio response is at −3 dB [1].
