Description
The I4102 is a DC voltage source, made by IEMI in Bucharest and designed at the ICE research institute [1]. Some of these supplies were still in use in the electronics faculty laboratories of the Bucharest Polytechnic University when the book was written [1]. The ICE laboratory’s table gives its code as J 4102 [1].
ICE’s laboratory for electronic instruments for measuring electrical quantities designed all the institute’s generations of oscilloscopes, voltmeters, multimeters, signal generators, frequency meters, logic analysers, RLC bridges and stabilised AC power supplies; they went into production at IEMI or in ICE’s own microproduction workshop, and equipped industrial laboratories and production lines as well as teaching and research laboratories [1]. In the 1970s and 1980s about half of the components of measuring instruments were imported; after 1980 about three quarters were Romanian [1].
It is a dual source of up to 40 V and 1.2 A; a modernised version with integrated circuits, the I4102 M, followed [2]. IEMI’s production table lists it from 1973 to 1985, without a total, and 1,075 units of the modernised version made in 1980–1984 [2].
The list price of the modernised I4102 M, set in 1982, was 5,000 lei [3].
Annex III.2.14 says it was built entirely with silicon semiconductors and made up of two identical sources that could work independently or in parallel, for supplying laboratory set-ups and electronic equipment; each gave 1–40 V and 0.05–1.2 A, both continuously adjustable [4].
