Description

The N2501 is an electronic level switch (nivostat), made by IEMI in Bucharest [1]. IEMI’s production table lists 2,124 units made in 1981–1985 [1].

Annex III.2.11 describes it as a technologically modernised version of the NTS-T with a wider range of uses, for automating the filling and emptying of vessels in the chemical and food industries. It had a supply-and-control unit (BAC) and a transducer-probe unit (BTS); the capacitive probe was 250, 450 or 650 mm long, insulated with polypropylene and Teflon or with Teflon only, and probes of 1 to 8 m could be supplied on request. It was intrinsically safe (Ex i a), protected to IP 54, and worked at tank pressures of up to 15 daN/cm² and temperatures of up to 70 °C, or 130 °C with a thermal insulator [2].
