Description
The Snagov with the low-consumption 3-IC chassis is a black-and-white television set with a 47 cm screen, made by Electronica in Bucharest from 1983 [1].
At the initiative of general director Octavian Juncu, Electronica reduced the consumption of its stationary sets with the mains autotransformer supply proposed by Eugen Statnic in 1974 for the IC sets; the low-consumption chassis, designed by Radu Pițigoi, cut consumption from about 90 VA (sets with 4, 5 or 6 ICs) to at most 70 VA [1]. It was a single horizontal board with four modules – common video-sound IF, sound IF, sync processor and vertical sweep – and only three integrated circuits: TDA440, TAA661 and the ZTC33 stabiliser [1]. Production began in 1983 and the chassis remained the basis of Electronica’s stationary sets until after 1990; they were sold at home as Olt (44 cm), Snagov (47 cm), Sirius (51 cm) and Diamant (61 cm), followed by a three-digit code whose middle digit, 3, gave the number of ICs (for example Sirius 237), and many were exported [1].
Other sets on the same chassis: Olt, Sirius 237, Diamant.
